Hello.
I’ve just realised my 12 year old daughter has never seen the milky way! How could I let that happen?
Would the Newchurch observatory be a good place to see the milky way, given its VIIRS classification is suburban?
Thank you for your time,
Best regards,
Decio Quintas
Hi Decio
It’s going to be difficult at this time of the year as it doesn’t really get dark until almost midnight! That’s a bit late for a 12year old.
Anyhow, whilst the best observation area here on the Island is in the South West, on the Military Road, on a clear night the Milky Way is visible quite easily from our observatory in Newchurch.
Best Wishes
Observatory Director
